ChitChat Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

At ChitChat, we take the privacy and security of our users' personal data very seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and share the personal data that is provided to us through our app.

Data Collection

ChitChat collects basic contact information such as name, email, and phone number. We also collect information based on the user's location in order to properly send text reminders in the correct timezone. The only information shared with a third party is the phone number, which is used by Twilio to send and receive SMS reminders. Upon logging in, the user is asked to verify and/or fix the timezone that is assigned to their account.

Data Use

ChitChat uses the collected data solely for the purpose of sending text reminders to the user. We do not sell or share personal data with any other third parties for any other purposes. If at any time the end user does not want to share information with ChitChat, or wants it removed, we will do so. However, if the data being shared is critical to the operation of the application, then the account will be terminated.

Data Security

ChitChat takes appropriate measures to protect the personal data of our users. We use encryption and secure data storage to safeguard against unauthorized access, modification, or disclosure.

User Rights

ChitChat recognizes the rights of our users to access, rectify, and erase their personal data. If at any time a user wishes to exercise these rights, they can contact us through our support channels.

ChitChat Terms of Service

The use of ChitChat is subject to the following Terms of Service:

  1. The user agrees to provide accurate and complete information when creating an account with ChitChat.
  2. The user is responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials and for any actions taken on their account.
  3. ChitChat reserves the right to modify or terminate the service at any time without notice.
  4. ChitChat reserves the right to suspend or terminate a user's account if they violate the Terms of Service.
  5. ChitChat is currently only available for users with phone codes "+1".
  6. The user agrees to share their name, phone, email, and location in order to be used for the sole purpose of sending text reminders, app notifications, and promotional emails related to the account to their device. By creating an account you are agreeing to share you information with ChitChat and you are opting in to receive text messages and monthly promotional emails to your device.
  7. The user agrees to use ChitChat only for lawful purposes and to comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
